May 7, 2011 - PRLog -- RICHLAND, WA -- Now that the FBI's "most wanted man" has been killed, computer hackers are using Osama bin Ladin as a way to spread viruses to your computer, and the most popular venue is Facebook.

The social networking site has taken the nation by storm; millions of people in the U.S. spend hours checking their Facebook profiles every day, which includes folks Georgia-Carolina.

The vast audience makes it a prime target for hackers looking to put a virus on your computer.  They're using the death of the FBI's most wanted terrorist as bait.

"A virus came on my wall that said click here to see the real photo and things like that, which immediately I knew was bogus,” one Facebok user stated.

Computer repair technicians at Cline Computers has been warning their customers who use Facebook.

“The virus starts by infecting your page, it shows up as a link on your page, then it starts infecting your friend’s pages,” a technician stated from Cline Computers.

Once you click on the link, it’ll bring you to a YouTube page and ask you to "download" Flash player, but you'd be downloading a virus instead.

“They mess up your computer; they can take your personal information. If you have passwords saved on your computer they can get that information. Your credit card numbers, they can get them too,” said the computer retail store manager.

Anytime you click on a link you're taking a risk; however Facebook has set up a tool to help strengthen your security.  Underneath “Account” and “Account Settings” there's an “Account Security” option; there you can control your browsing and login security to help prevent unwanted links from popping up.

"There are many ways to keep your computer safe, none are 100 percent, the best way is knowledge, don't click on it!"

Cline Computers highly recommends security software such as Microsoft Security Essentials, Malware Bytes, and SuperAnti-Spyware; all free software titles.
