Jet Airways Marks 18th Anniversary With Tree Plantation Drive At Its New Training Centre In Gurgaon
Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, today marked its 18th anniversary with a tree plantation drive at the site of its new training centre in Gurgaon, the industrial and financial hub of Haryana.
The occasion saw coming together as one the Senior Management and employees of the Jet Airways from various departments, as they helped plant eighteen symbolic Gulmohar, Ashoka and Bottlebrush saplings, for each of the eighteen years of the airline's services.
Each of the departments represented were Public Relations, Sales (Delhi and Northern India), Human Resource Development, Cabin Appearance, In-flight services, Purchase, Security, Catering, Cargo, Dispatch, Finance, Airport Services, Engineering and Flight Operations as well as employees of JetLite, the airline’s all-economy subsidiary carrier.
According to Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, “As Jet Airways marks its 18th anniversary with a sense of pride at the many firsts to our credit, we also realize that there are many milestones yet to be achieved before we can take our place as one of the five finest carriers in the world, as envisioned by our Chairman. As a socially responsible organisation, events such as these go a long way in strengthening the bonds within the Jet Airways family.”
Jet Airways commenced operations on May 5, 1993 to twelve Indian cities, with a fleet of four Boeing 737-300 aircraft. The airline has since emerged as one of the fastest growing in the world, with current operations to 71 destinations across India and Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and the Gulf.
