COMIC ZONE of Scottsdale hosts Free Comic Book Day

May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Comic Zone of Scottsdale, AZ will be a participating retailer in Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 7th, 2011.

Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May each year.  Three free comic books per customer, and another with each item purchased, while supplies last.  There will be many fun activities going on in the store.

J. Scooter Harris will be in the store from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm . He is an artist and creator of True Crime Theater Comics.

Local children’s caricature artist and artist of the popular HAWK AND CROC webcomic, Andy Costello, will be available from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm for custom caricatures and/or comic book character drawings upon request.

We will also be hosting local author, Tom Leveen, who will be available from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to sign his young adults novel, “PARTY.”  

We are fortunate to have bestselling fantasy author, Diana Gabaldon making a special appearance from 4:00 – 5:00 pm to sign copies of her graphic novel, “The Exile: an Outlander Graphic Novel.”

Comic Zone is the only comic book store in Scottsdale, Arizona, conveniently located at 5909 N. Granite Reef Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85250, just off the 101. Take McDonald Drive to the second traffic light (Granite Reef Rd).  Comic Zone is on the west side of the Basha’s parking lot, facing Granite Reef Rd. just two doors down from Casella’s Deli.

The store features ever-changing and ongoing sales, regular comic book discussions, monthly writing groups, monthly drawing groups, and much more. Come on by. You will like what you find.
