May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Johnson Creek, WI – Grinwald Ford is bringing Ford Motor Company’s innovative Drive One 4 UR School program to the Johnson Creek community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 for Johnson Creek High School. For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at Johnson Creek Elementary School on May 7, Grinwald Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Johnson Creek High School.  The funds will go towards the technology fund.

“We are excited to team up with Johnson Creek High School to help them raise funds for their technology department. The goal is to provide each classroom with a SMART Board, which will compliment with the classroom’s computer, whiteboard, and projector. Improving the current technology equipment throughout the school will be a major benefit to the education of the students,” said Chelsea Grinwald of Grinwald Ford. The event, which will be held from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., will feature the Ford Explorer, Focus, Fiesta, Edge, F-150, Taurus and other available models.

Since the start of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events have generated over $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide. Locally, Grinwald Ford participated in Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2010 and raised over $6,000.

In addition to raising much-needed revenue for high school extracurricular activities, the program gives participants the chance to experience Ford Motor Company’s exciting new vehicles and leading safety technologies, including:

•   MyKey™, a system that allows parents to limit a vehicle’s top speed and audio volume to encourage safe driving behavior in teens;
•   SYNC®, the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, updated with a “Do Not Disturb” button to block incoming calls and text messages and improved text message read-back capabilities so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel;
•   Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with cross traffic alert, which uses radar to check the blind spot and helps notify the driver of approaching traffic when backing out of a parking spot; and,
•   Active Park Assist, a technology that helps drivers position the vehicle for parallel parking and then steer it into a parking spot without touching the steering wheel.
•   SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide is a unique instrument cluster designed to give hybrid owners a more connected driving experience by coaching them to further maximize the fuel efficiency of their hybrid vehicle.

Awarded 2010 Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show, the completely reinvented Ford Explorer combines exceptional handling and towing capability with sleek lines and class-leading fuel economy. With a suite of connectivity and safety features, including MyFord Touch™, terrain management system and the world’s first rear inflatable seatbelt, America’s first SUV remains America’s favorite.

To participate, please visit Johnson Creek Elementary School’s parking lot between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on May 7.

Participants must be 21 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household.
