Prior to his elevation to the Board of Directors, he was Executive Director (International Trade, Information Systems and Optimisation) at IndianOil's Corporate Office. Mr. Goyal has over three decades of experience in IndianOil and has handled the entire gamut of activities in the Finance function.

A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Goyal has shouldered wide-ranging responsibilities that include treasury operations of size exceeding USD 80 billion, policy formulation and statutory compliances as well as appraisal of projects beyond Rs. 100 crore. Mr. Goyal has been at the forefront of sophisticated treasury operations such as borrowing through Collateralised Borrowing & Lending Operations (CBLO), and raising funds through international financial institutions
