Start-up local tech company offers turnkey text messaging solutions for West Michigan businesses

TakeAim Mobile is driving force behind popular Metro Health ER & Civic Theatre text message campaigns

May 4, 2011 - PRLog -- (GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.) – When some company’s failed marketing attempts have them issuing a “SOS”message, one local tech start-up saves them with a “SMS” message. These “Short Message Service” (aka “text”) messages are the bread and butter solution for TakeAim Mobile, a Grand Rapids-based text messaging company that has garnered local success in its one year of existence. http://www.takeaimmobile.com

TakeAim Mobile, owned by Greg Clausen (Managing Partner) and Mike Williams (Chief Technical Officer) is the company responsible for the popular text campaigns for Metro Health’s ER wait time campaign and Civic Theatre, among others.  Although text messaging has been around for a while TakeAim Mobile stands out from the slew of marketers as a full service, turn-key solution for brands that see the benefit in initiating a mobile program, but are either not tech savvy or don’t want to get bogged down in the additional effort required to become a mobile marketer. And, more importantly for some clients, they’re local.

“The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre began working with TakeAim Mobile in November 2010,” said Nancy Brozek, Director of Development and Community Relations for Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. “Our Theatre was looking for an effective way to reach new patrons, share special pricing, and keep people connected to the overall Civic Theatre Experience,” Continued Brozek. “The Civics’ TakeAim following grew to more than 300 people within the first few weeks of use. Through this partnership, the Civic has been able to strategically connect with theatre goers and the community to increase awareness and call to action.”

“We make it a priority to stay engaged with our customers by staying personally connected to their current offerings and upcoming special events,” said Clausen, who has over 15 years of professional sales experience. “Being able to visit our customers and help them understand SMS gives TakeAim an advantage over the national online-only providers.”

TakeAim stays  up-to-date with their client’s Facebook and Twitter posts as well as reading their e-mail newsletter content in order to creatively and continuously develop a relevant message to their text club members – “ultimately to drive sales and further deepen customer loyalty,” continued Clausen.
“We had a GREAT weekend and redemption as a result of the text broadcast,” said Jeff Carrigan, the owner of the Mancino’s franchise. “We had our best ever weekend in sales and beat our previous best by almost $3,000!

TakeAim Mobile focuses on small-to medium- sized businesses that are often in the retail or restaurant industry. However, they are starting to branch out into new industries that are new to the mobile marketing approach.

Branching outside of the retail industry has led them to work with Metro Health on an “ER” text campaign, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre ticket sales, and also targeting area car dealerships.

A specialist in customer relations and a background in the financial industry, Clausen is passionate about growing his business through helping others grow theirs.

“TakeAim Mobile has already helped several businesses increases their sales in less than a week’s time,” said Clausen. “We engage fully with our clients to learn about their current strategies and to develop a solution that will enable them to quickly and efficiently add the mobile channel into their marketing efforts. It is a passion of mine to help businesses achieve their full potential without the hefty fees”.

TakeAim Mobile offers a pricing structure that allows businesses to have a full marketing plan wrapped around texting with varying levels of involvement and price. Prices are structured on the volume of messages sent, as well as the level of engagement, and the number of solutions that TakeAim Mobile is offering, including:
•   Polling
•   Surveys
•   Database Segmentation

TakeAim Mobile currently has a primary focus in the West Michigan market, yet they do have a national reach and plan on taking it to that level in the future. “We’re a local provider that can help local companies compete on a national landscape without having to pay significantly for it,” Clausen adds.
