May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Two major players in the fast-growing electronic-discovery field have joined forces to provide vast new training and career enhancement opportunities to thousands of litigation professionals worldwide.

LitigationSupportCareers.com (LSC), the e-discovery job board, has formed a strategic alliance with the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), the premier membership and accrediting organization in the field. Under the partnership, LSC will urge litigators and support personnel to take advantage of ACEDS’ unique e-discovery training and prestigious certification, while ACEDS’ members will receive generous discounts on their use of LSC’s exclusive targeted employment listings and resume data base in recruitment efforts and their own job searches.

In particular, LSC will promote the rigorous training that leads to the Certified E-Discovery Specialists (CEDS) credential, including ACEDS’ upcoming CEDS Exam Preparation seminars and E-Discovery Survival Skills, May 12-13th in New York, May 15 in Las Vegas, May 16-17th in San Francisco, June 7-8th in Washington DC and June 9-10th in Chicago.  ACEDS will encourage its members to take part in LSC’s eDiscovery Talent Drive, a unique virtual career fair, which will take place in July, and will cross-list opportunities from LSC’s job board on ACEDS’ own website.

eDiscovery Talent Drive
LSC’s first-ever virtual career fair for e-discovery will run during the month of July. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the need for firms to have fully-qualified e-discovery professionals on staff to handle all aspects of litigation, and to provide a forum for companies to recruit the talent they need. At the same time, the fair will highlight those organizations that have made a commitment to the highest quality litigation work.

As part of its new partnership with LSC, job seekers that are members of ACEDS can attend this event at no charge. (Call 786 517-2701 for more information.)

CEDS certification
ACEDS introduced its unique e-discovery certification examination in November 2010. It is the first legally defensible, psychometrically-sound exam intended to certify professionals as specialists in e-discovery. The exam was the culmination of an eight-month process involving 40 experts, psychometricians and a 272-item survey.

Since the exam was launched, lawyers, litigation support, information technology and records management professionals from 16 states and Canada, the United Kingdom and Taiwan have passed the test and earned the CEDS credential as Certified E-Discovery Specialists.

Many more are scheduled to take the exam at one of 560 ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers worldwide.
