May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Temecula, CA -  Outstanding in the Field's 2011 farm dinner season kicks off in May, and Palumbo Family Vineyards will be pouring the wine at one of their first stops -- amidst the avocado and citrus groves of Crows Pass Farm in Temecula.

On Saturday, May 14, the OitF crew of culinary gypsies will roll up in their big red bus to set their long, linen-draped table between the soil and the sky at Crows Pass Farm.

Chef Paul McCabe of Kitchen 1540 in Del Mar (a James Beard Foundation "Rising Star") will set up an al fresco kitchen alongside the table to whip up a delicious five-course meal, made with ingredients fresh from the surrounding fields and paired with wines poured by winemaker Nick Palumbo.

Guests will gather at 4pm for wine and nibbles, then host farmers Dave & Tina Barnes will lead a tour of the farm (wear your walking shoes and a sunhat!) before everyone sits down for a fabulous family-style feast with the Barnes and other local farmers and food artisans providing ingredients for the menu. http://crowspassfarm.com.

If you're not familiar with Outstanding in the Field's roving restaurant without walls, check out this piece about founding chef and artist Jim Denevan that aired a couple years ago on CBS Sunday Morning

Ticket price of $200 per person includes the farm tour, five-course meal paired with wines, and all gratuities. To learn more and reserve a seat at the Outstanding table, visit http://www.palumbowines.com/announcements/winemaker-nicho... or www.outstandinginthefield.com

Hope to see you at the farm!
