In The Rooms Receives The Recovery Community's Most Coveted Honor At The 15th Annual Prism Awards

May 2, 2011 - PRLog -- In The Rooms founders, Ken Pomerance and Ron Tannebaum proudly accepted "The Presidents Award" from the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) Friday night at the 15th Annual PRISM Awards. Considered to be the most prestigious award given in the recovery community, “The Presidents Award” is presented to projects that leave behind an ongoing legacy. There have been only four past recipients: SHARE (a country music industry initiative), the Chris Farley Foundation, Intervention (an innovative new kind of program), and HBO’s Addiction Project.

While In The Rooms has been impacting countless lives since launching in 2008, 2011 is the year that the organization seems to be making the leap from anonymity to household name. Aside from the humbling recognition within the recovery community, In The Rooms is also working with several national media outlets to take their story and pioneering recovery platform globally with several monumental projects launching over the next few months.

Co founder of In The Rooms, Ron Tannebaum said, “While accolades are wonderful, we are equally thrilled that our #1 In The Rooms Ambassador and dear friend Richie Supa, a former touring member of AeroSmith has also won for “Song of the Year” again for his new song "Last House on The Block". He won the same award in 2009 for our song “In The Rooms” and is also being honored with the Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein award for all he does for Musicians seeking help or in Recovery.” Tannebaum added, “For In The Rooms to be a success, everyone involved needs to be a success and judging from this year’s PRISM Awards, our team seems to be on the right track.”

The evening will be telecast on flagship airing partner FX as well as National Geographic Channel, ReelzChannel, E! On Demand, and other networks, and will be featured at a special Capitol Hill Showcase in Washington, DC on September 25th as a celebration of National Recovery Month.
