West Kingston, RI – The Who’s Tommy provides a nostalgic trip back for anyone who grew up in the 1970s. Platform shoes and pinball machines take center stage June 2-19 in this classic rock opera at the Courthouse Center for the Arts. Sponsored by P. Schurman Contractors.
Based on the 1969 rock opera album by The Who, Tommy tells the story of a traumatized young boy who is deaf, dumb and blind. As his desperate parents try to find a cure, Tommy is abused by an uncle and cousin. Eventually, Tommy discovers his talent for pinball and quickly becomes a local celebrity.
All performances are held at the Courthouse Center for the Arts at 3481 Kingstown Rd. in West Kingston, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $34 for adults, $30 for seniors 62 and over and $19 for children under 18 and students.  To purchase tickets, call 782-1018 or go to www.courthousearts.org to buy them online.

The Courthouse Center for the Arts has provided education and entertainment in a multitude of art forms since 1988. Since its opening, the staff has kept a busy schedule ranging from art galleries to live theatrical performances to concerts.
