The Advanced Airbag System uses sensors to detect if someone is in the passenger seat, and deactivates if no one is.  When the airbags deploy, it goes on a dual-stage system to give the driver and/or passenger the safest possible impact.

With Vehicle Dynamic Control, power to the brakes and wheels are adjusted appropriately when making sharp turns or when skidding.  Power is reduced in the right areas to reduce skid if necessary.  This works with the Traction Control System to enhance rear-wheel grip by adjusting braking power.
