April 30, 2011 - PRLog -- NEWSWIRE: Kansas City, MO - Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo - World pop singer, Jose Hendrix kicked off his debut North American tour in Kansas City, April 28th, to a screaming crowd of teens and adults on a sunny corporate campus in Overland Park, Kansas.  Hendrix North American launch tour is the result of a virtual collaboration that began a year ago between American songwriter, Kelly Myers and African singer, Jose Hendrix who was located in Africa. The cross-continental songwriting team used the Internet to create a full CD to be launched in the Unites States. The project has landed all 15 songs from the virtual collaboration CD, 'Jose Hendrix - Embrace the Earth' to Broadjam's Latin Rock Top 10 Chart.

Hendrix, who recently arrived in the United States from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo to promote the collaboation CD has gained the support of local Kansas City musicians like master guitarist, Jay Eudaly, master percussionists, Jaisson Taylor, Ayo McPherson, Lara Lavi-Jones and saxophone player, Phil Brenner.  Less than 24 hours after the corporate campus performance in Kansas City, another song from Embrace the Earth was voted to another Broadjam's chart - Missouri Top 10 chart.  The CD, now available on iTunes and other online stores has gained the attention of a Grammy-winning engineer. Songs from the CD have been selected for an upcoming movie starring the Mixon brothers and Deion Sanders. "We are seeing a great deal of interest, especially from college and corporate markets who are interested in booking a Jose Hendrix concert. Jose Hendrix and his band offer a show that is dynamic and lively, with lots of percussion and dancing", said Kelly Myers. "We are now developing a recording studio program to be used in AIDS orphanages in Africa and schools and in the United States.  The music production studios, some operating wirelessly, will aim to give hope and new opportunities to those in underpriveledged areas of the world.  We continue to focus on growing micro-economies of musicians and dancers in Democratic Republic of Congo where their is a rich pool of talented and disciplined artists.  Through the use of the Internet and wireless technologies, collaborating can enrich and provide access to new talent", Kelly Myers said.  Jose Hendrix is performing a benefit concert for kids called "From Kinshasa to Kansas City", set to be held in early June in Kansas City. "We will continue to focus on arts programming for children and music, Jose Hendrix" says. On May 21st, Hendrix will perform in Los Angeles, California on Venice Beach. The date of the benefit concert performance will be posted on
