Musgrave Building & Restorations Earns Prestigious Golden Brick Award For Residential Construction

April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, FL – Award-winning construction company Musgrave Building & Restorations added another accolade to its growing portfolio by receiving a prestigious 2010 Golden Brick Award for Residential Construction for a custom home in downtown Orlando’s historic Delaney Park neighborhood.
   It is the first Golden Brick award for the award-winning Orlando-based company which has won numerous Parade of Homes honors for homebuilding excellence.
   The Golden Brick awards are presented annually by the Downtown Orlando Partnership to projects that contribute significantly to the city’s quality of life and economic growth. Besides Residential Construction, categories include Interior Projects, Office, Public Art, Public Projects, Retail/Restaurants, Special Events/Entertainment and Private Projects.
   Musgrave Building & Restorations’ Golden Brick award-winner also captured first-place honors in last year’s Spring Parade of Homes.
   DOP Judges deemed the 4-bedroom, 2 ½-bath bungalow featuring nearly 2,400 square feet of living area to be the best in its category and for enhancing the city’s neighborhood core.
   Musgrave Building & Restorations, a company that has made its mark in both the residential and commercial arenas, was contracted to tear down the original home at that address and replace it with one that not only was replete with all of the amenities, features and comforts of today but would complement the historic character of the neighborhood’s century-old homes.
   Among the home’s many distinguishing features are the generous use of natural materials such as red oak, granite and slate and extensive detailing such as crystal doorknobs, door styles and use of old-fashioned subway tiles.
   Company Principal Jeff E. Musgrave says he knew when he began planning the special project he had something “really special” in the works and was delighted that the judges agreed.
   “We take great pride in this award because it underscores our commitment to making downtown Orlando a better and more enjoyable place to work and live,” says Musgrave. “This is the first of what we hope will be many more Golden Brick awards for our company, as we have several more construction projects in the works in the downtown area that we believe will also merit strong consideration.”
