“I’m thrilled to have been asked to talk to America about the event of the decade,” says Kim, whose company Your London Wedding was born out of ten years of event planning, resulting in a little black book stuffed with the cream of suppliers and resources. “I’m throwing my own Royal Wedding party on the day but I’ll be staying focused because I’ll be talking to Wayne Gurnick, Big Media USA’s wedding planning expert, too.

“Like billions all over the world, I’ll be watching very closely, probably in awe of the way the logistics of this huge celebration have been managed. And then I have the chance to talk to millions of listeners in America – it’s fantastic!”

Kim, who launched her wedding planning business in South Woodford, East London two years ago, would have loved to plan the Wills & Kate nuptials: “It would have been a dream job for any wedding planner but the royal protocol and the sheer size of the event would need a team of hundreds! My own service is much more personal.

“What Kate wears will set the trend for wedding dresses for the rest of this year and for who knows how long afterwards,” says Kim. “I think we’ll see other trends emerging from the event, too – how the guests dress, for example, the flowers, all the elements that make a wedding special.

“It will be amazing to be able to pass on my thoughts and ideas to the millions who will be enjoying the whole pomp and circumstance of the event on TV in the States.”
