Mike Hebrank Joins UHC as Vice President and CIO

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) in Oak Brook, Ill., has hired Mike Hebrank to fill the role of vice president and CIO.

Smith, the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) in Oak Brook, Ill., has hired Mike Hebrank to fill the role of vice president and CIO. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 20 years of healthcare information technology leadership experience, Hebrank will assume his new duties at UHC immediately.
“Mike is a consummate problem-solver — he brings a broad technical background and a highly strategic mindset to UHC,” said Steven J. Hebrank’s career has included executive leadership positions at GBMC Healthcare and Helix Health, both in Baltimore, Md., where he managed information technology departments of up to 70 employees while developing strategic plans and budgets leveraging technology to successfully achieve the organizations’ business goals. Prior to joining UHC, Hebrank served as CTO/CIO with investment manager Campbell & Company in Baltimore. Hebrank completed a master’s of science degree in computer engineering at Loyola University in Chicago, Ill., and a bachelor’s of science degree in applied statistics at the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Md.
