Highly Anticipated Performing Arts Center to Open May 1 in Camp Hill, PA

The Camp Hill School District and The Lion Foundation will welcome community members in the ribbon cutting and dedication of the newly constructed Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center and new Eisenhower Elementary School.

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Camp Hill, PA - Five years after an unprecedented pledge that made its creation possible, the highly anticipated Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center will make its public debut Sunday, May 1, 2011. This marks the ultimate success of a fantastic joint effort between the Camp Hill School District, The Lion Foundation, and the Camp Hill community.

The new Eisenhower Elementary School will be dedicated at the same time - most of the original building was razed in 2009 to make way for this new construction.

Heralded as a "unique private-public partnership," the Grace Milliman Pollock Performing Arts Center will be used primarily to enhance the arts education of the students of the Camp Hill School District and to provide a state of the art facility for their various performances. The Center's most prominent features include dedicated art and music rooms, a professional dance studio, additional classrooms, and a state-of-the-art 500-seat Theater.

Current students at the adjoining Eisenhower Elementary School will also have daily access to the Pollock Center’s facilities for arts instruction and rehearsal purposes.

The public dedication ceremony will feature a ribbon cutting as well as facility tours and refreshments for visitors.

About the Grace Milliman Pollock PAC
In 2006, noted philanthropist and long-time Camp Hill resident Grace Milliman Pollock made an exceptional move when she donated fifteen million dollars through The Lion Foundation for the construction and long-term sustainment of a dedicated arts education facility to benefit Camp Hill School District students. While CHSD itself would own and operate the newly conceived facility, The Lion Foundation of Camp Hill would remain on board to manage the financial aspects of its operation.
