There is a newly discovered marine source of omega-3 fatty acids it is Krill oil. Eggs from free-range chickens have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids than commercially reared chickens fed soybeans or corn. One of the most popular plant sources of omega-3 fatty acid is Flaxseed (linseed) and its oil and walnuts.

There are some disease that omega-3 is good to maintain wellness. This can be good in High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Cholesterol, Stroke, Mental disorders, and Asthma. Study shows omega-3 is good for the heart because it decreases the risk of heart attacks, strokes and abnormal heart beat. It also improves the blood circulation to prevent blood clots. For young ages, Omega-3 fatty acids are good for the normal development of vision and brain function.

According to the Mediterranean diet, Omega-3 is good to decreases the risk of getting cancer by over 60 per cent. This can strengthen the immune system and inhibit the formation and growth of tumors.

But there’s a newly research have found that high levels of the omega-3 fatty acid called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) increased the risk of developing aggressive, high-grade prostate cancer by two and half times while trans-fatty acids cut the risk in half.

The researchers was obtained study and a data from over 3,000 men 55 years and older who participated in the much larger Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial, half of whom developed prostate cancer. Although Omega-3 have an anti-inflammatory property and fight conditions such as arthritis, asthma and heart disease while omega-6s cause inflammation which is known to increase the risk of cancer.

The risk of developing prostate cancer did not affect from Omega-6 fatty acids. The role of omega-3s in aggressive prostate cancer is unknown but researchers want to study its effects on other prostate cancers.
