Ronnie Lott Garners Golf Hit with First Annual “Drive to Survive” ALS Charity Event
Ronnie Lott's 1st Annual "Drive to Survive" is a two-day fundraiser that aims to raise money for Eric’s Vision (www.EricsVision.org), a nonprofit organization, which was started in memory of Eric Scoggins who passed away from ALS.
Eric’s Vision began because Eric Scoggins, teammate of Ronnie Lott at USC & with the San Francisco 49ers, was diagnosed with ALS in 2007. Eric dreamed of finding a cure for ALS through various partnerships and with ALSTDI. He attacked the issue with the same passion that fueled his successful professional career and personal life. Ronnie Lott became involved as the President and Board of Director of Eric’s Vision, with fellow 49er Keena Turner, as a way of honoring the memory of his friend, college roommate at USC, and fellow 49er.
Ronnie Lott’s event brought together friends like Ken Norton Sr., Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, Gary Plummer, and former 49er teammates, Eric Wright and Dwight Hicks, as well as others in the entertainment field for a benefit dinner, silent, and live auction by Leo “The Film Freak” Quinones. asiyr The silent auction by Mancave Memorabilia offered items from signed photos, signed Aerosmith, Bon Jovi , Rolling Stones, & Jonas Brothers guitars, and signed/numbered lithographs as well as a donated Bobby Abreu signed bat (by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), a signed Joe Montana Jersey and Jerry Rice signed lithograph (from the San Francisco 49ers), to various one-of-a-kind pieces donated by different sports figures. ** Photos available from publicist**
