The Moors is an ever deceiving landscape, giving the distinct impression that the area expands for hundreds of miles, when in fact it is a relatively small space by comparison.

When I visited Bodmin Moor, I got the distinct feeling of expansive, unspoilt and untouched natural beauty. I could have been transported many centuries back in time, and my eyes would have been beholden to the same natural beauty I saw on my recent visit. It’s not a place where one should be complacent, as many have lost themselves here; once the rolling fogs descend and the landscape takes a whole new shape and appearance.

You can get to Bodmin Moor quite easily, however, it is closer to the North Cornwall and West Devon borders. This is another good reason to find a cottage in Bodmin, which provides a springboard to exploration throughout the South West.
