Kids Wish Network Grants Disney Wish to Sun City Girl with Illness, Thanks to Local Sponsor

A little girl with a life-threatening illness has the wish of her life thanks to national children’s charity Kids Wish Network and some wonderful local sponsors.

April 25, 2011 - PRLog -- SUN CITY, Calif.- Ariella suffers from an extremely rare illness called ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency which doesn’t allow the body to properly break down proteins. This, in turn, raises the ammonia levels in the body to toxic amounts, which can quickly lead to death. Because of this, Ariella has been in and out of the hospital constantly since her birth, follows a strict medication regimen and must be monitored very closely.

After learning about national children’s charity Kids Wish Network through Ariella’s doctor, her mother, Robin, gave them a call. It wasn’t long before Ariella made her one wish known: to visit Disneyland.

In order for Ariella’s wish to be granted, a Kids Wish Network wish funding specialist made some calls around Sun City to find sponsors willing to help send Ariella on her wish and found quite a few: the American Legion Palm Springs Post, Junior Eagles Fraternal Order of Eagles #4055, Pastor Scott Ganas and His Light on the Hill M-Pact Girls Club.

Once funded, Ariella’s wish could be granted in style with accommodations at the Anaheim Marriott, dinners every evening and, of course, tickets to Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure Park and Universal Studios Hollywood.

“It was all so much fun,” said Robin of her daughter’s wish trip. “She had a fabulous time.”

According to Ariella, her favorite experience was riding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure Park, which surprised her mother, who said, “I had no idea she was such a thrill-seeker! She was really into the rides!”

Every day was a blast for Ariella and her parents and she didn’t want to come home, but everyone is glad of the array of brand new memories that they brought back with them.

“I am really touched by what you all [at Kids Wish Network] did for her,” said Robin. “It was more than what I was expecting and it just made her so happy. Every day was a blessing. Thank you.”

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following for helping to make Ariella’s wish extra special: American Legion Palm Springs Post, Junior Eagles Fraternal Order of Eagles #4055, Pastor Scott Ganas,  His Light on the Hill M-Pact Girls Club, Anaheim Marriott, Disneyland Compassion Program, Universal Studios California, El Torito, Tiffy’s Family Restaurant, Andrew’s Panda Inn Citywalk and Captain Kidd’s Restaurant.
