-- BLUE SPRINGS, MISSOURI—Hyundai has a long-standing commitment to greener vehicles and production, and they recently showed that again with the announcement of a plan to start mass production of hydrogen fuel cell cars this week.
Production of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles—versions of the Hyundai Tucson ix SUV—will begin this Friday in South Korea. The hydrogen technology allows the vehicle to run for approximately 370 miles between fueling, according to Hyundai.
Hyundai has plans to sell 1,000 models of the fuel cell vehicles worldwide by 2015.
