Love Games’ Reality TV Show personality Robert Riva guest bartends for Big Dog Ranch Rescue

April 24, 2011 - PRLog -- (Palm Beach, Fla.---)   Robert Riva, one of the fifteen bachelors appearing in the new reality TV show Love Games, which premiered this month on the Oxygen channel, appeared as guest bartender to help raise funds for Big Dog Ranch Rescue.  The event, which raised over $10,000 and resulted in the adoption of ten puppies, took place at Bice Restaurant on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue, Thursday April 21st.  

“Bartending isn’t new to me, I professionally bartended to help support my college lifestyle, but this night was a first for me!! It was thrilling and challenging to keep up with the crowd!  I hope I contributed to the overall success… I would have taken all the dogs home with me but I would probably have been kicked out of the condo!” said Robert Riva.

H.R.H Prince Michel de Yougoslavie was among the three hundred guests who attended the event. “I’m glad Robert Riva asked me to come.  I was truly moved by these adorable puppies and encouraged by the overwhelming attendance at this event,” said Prince Michel.

Major supporters were offered access to the VIP area, where generous samplings of Black River Ossetra Caviar, Cheney Brother’s famous shrimp cocktail, samples of SX specialty cocktails.  Alpa Luxe, purveyors of the finest vicuna and cashmere accessories soon to open on Worth Avenue offered a sneak preview of their exquisite wares.  

“The success of the event surpassed all our expectations.  It was surprising to see such a mixed crowd—young and old and so rewarding to engage their support.  We are so grateful to our sponsors, supporters and to Robert for working non-stop at the bar.  He certainly drew a young good looking crowd!” said Megan Weinberger, organizer of the event.



About Big Dog Ranch Rescue
Each year Big Dog Ranch Rescue saves approximately 1,000 dogs. This year with a move on the horizon for the organization there has also been a distemper outbreak at the Miami- Dade shelter that forced the quick rescue of over 30 dogs.

The non-profit organization’s aspirations focuses on saving the lives of unwanted dogs that otherwise are euthanized in shelters. Big Dog Ranch Rescue now has a new home at the former Folke Peterson wildlife sanctuary. This site includes [28] sprawling acres of land. A large portion of the property will be dedicated to the dogs. The rescue is planning to complete this move and sizable renovations by, May 1st 2011. This project will now come on the heels of one of their largest rescues to date.
