Why Do Artists Kill Their Dream?

An Artist can kill their dream. It takes one burnt CD for an artist to kill their opportunity of a life time. You usually have only one shot and should do it professionally with a press kit.

April 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The first huge mistake, the artist meets a potential person that can help their career (manager, promoter, agent, etc.), she runs home grabs her burnt CD, grabs a marker, writes her name on it along with a contact number, and she excitedly gives it to that person that can help her career.

What follows that? Let’s call that person a manager. The manager looks at the burnt CD and subconsciously automatically labels the artist as an "Amateur", a "newbie", an "unprofessional", a "not-worth-my-time-recording ", a "probably-low-quality-recording” and many other nasty labels that anyone can probably come up with.

The manager just grabs the burnt CD and dumps it with the rest of them or puts it in his car. The manager will probably prefer to listen to his new Dr Dre CD because the manager will automatically assume that the music is of poor quality and give it no chance. And if they do give it a chance, it will probably be already scratched after being in the car for weeks because who has respect for a burnt CD?

The Outcome… the Artist pretty much killed their opportunity. Why? Well the presentation of it was of poor quality. Heard of the phrase don’t judge a book by its cover? Well, in the music scene they do. What’s the solution? Use a press kit.

“Now what the heck is a press kit?” the artist wonders. Well it is a kit that incorporates the artist’s pictures, biography, contact info and a music CD. Never present your music without a press kit.

Unfortunately a Press Kit runs into the $500 range because every company forces you to buy 100 pieces or more which is why it comes out to so much. All the artist needs is an opportunity to be heard and presented professionally but not every artist has $500 to spare. And not every artist needs 100 press kits. And that sucks; because of this simple fact many artists kill their opportunities and their dreams with a burnt CD and a marker.

So an artist in the same position came up with the idea of making www.CdPressKit.com. They understood that an artist may just need 1 press kit for one huge life changing opportunity.

If an artist presents their music with a press kit from www.CDPressKit.com to a person that can help their career, that person is more likely to sit down and actually listen to it. It only takes one press kit to change an artist’s life and it only takes one burnt CD to kill it. An artist should always use a press kit.

CDPressKit.com was started to help out artists allowing them to present themselves professionally with press kits. The site offers no minimum orders in comparison to everyone else.
