April 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Honda Of Lisle, a dealership serving Chicago Honda shoppers, is proud to present the new 2012 Honda Civic Si.  The 2012 Honda Civic Si comes in both 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan models, each with a sports car feel that’s sure to impress any Chicago Honda fan.
Under the hood of the 2012 Honda Civic Si is a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 201 horsepower and 170 pound-feet  of torque. That's a 22 percent increase in torque over the previous generation of Si engines.  Fuel economy rates as 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

2012 Honda Civic Si Hits The Chicago Area

The Civic Si uses Honda’s Intelligent Multi-Information display, or i-MID.  The i-MID is the central source for information about many vehicle functions including current fuel economy and audio-system settings.  Bluetooth HandsFreeLink info and turn-by-turn navigation directions are available with selected option packages. Drivers can customize their settings, colors and add their own unique wallpaper. The Si also features a power monitor, which shows current engine output as a percentage of peak horsepower.

Safety features on the Si include airbags in the front, front-side and side curtain.  4-wheel anti-lock brakes are standard on all models, and Tire Pressure Monitoring helps make sure tire pressure is at the optimal level.

Standard on all Civic models is Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), which can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power in the event of oversteer or understeer to help regain the driver's intended path. The system also features a traction control function to help prevent wheelspin during acceleration.

The Civic's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.  This enhanced frontal crash-energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.
