April 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Rockstone Foundation, the Beverly Hills based non-profit urban filmmakers organization has partnered with new internet content distributor, Black Women's Entertainment Network to launch a Web Series Screenplay Contest focused on finding original material to be produced and aired on the network's website.  The international contest is open to all adult writers and genres, however, submitted scripts must feature a black female character in a lead role.  Scripts are limited to ten pages, must be original material, and not based on any past or current web shows.

A team of jurors comprised of accomplished writers, agents, managers, web content providers and production executives will evaluate and rate each script for originality, story, dialogue, character development and marketability. Five semi-finalists will be chosen from which one winner will emerge.  The five semi-final scripts will be made available on-line where visitors to both and will be able to vote and comment on their favorite scripts.  The winning original Web Series Pilot script will be optioned and produced for up to $10,000 by the BWE Network then aired on the network's website. The winning writer(s) will work closely with BWE Network’s production team to get the script ready for production.

Interested writers can apply on-line at by the June 30, 2011 deadline.  The winner will be announced in early August 2011.
