MOMENTUM INDIA 2011 in Bangalore on April 23rd & 24th

April 20, 2011 - PRLog -- NICC, International College of Media and Design will organize a two-day Conference ‘MOMENTUM INDIA 2011’ on 23rd and 24th April 2011 at Nimhans Convention Centre, Bangalore. The Conference will host a melange of open panel discussions, interactive workshops, exhibitions and public competitions, with emphasis on Design and Media Education and career opportunities in related industries.

Entry to the conference is free, but limited to those who register online at momentum–india.in before 8pm on 22nd April 2011.

As a build-up to the conference, NICC is organising two public online competitions, ‘CAPTURE MOMENTUM’ - an online photo competition, and ‘GRAPHIC MOMENTUM’, online poster design competition (more details on www.momentum-india.in).

Design Day - day one of ‘MOMENTUM INDIA 2011’ will be dedicated to Indian Design and Media Education, whereas Day two of the event – Photo-Cine Day, will concentrate on Photography and Cinematography and related fields. Workshops and open panel discussions will be led by prominent professionals and academics such as Mr. Suresh Subrahmanian (Advertising Consultant), Mr. John Cosgrove (Photojournalist from New Zealand), Dr. Akash K. Rose (Director NICC and renowned Macro Photographer), Mr. Wasim Khan (renowned Fashion Photographer), Dr. Ali Khwaja (Founder and Chairman of Banjara Academy), Mr. Vikram Dutt (documentary film-maker for Discovery Channel and Educationist), Mr. Vino John (renowned Sports Photographer), Mr. Sudhir Shivaram (Wild-life Photographer).

‘MOMENTUM INDIA 2011’ will host three exhibitions; ‘iNICCiative’ - exhibition of projects by NICC students, ‘Young Shutterbugs’ a photo-exhibition of NICC’s Outreach Program featuring student work of the Photo club at Presidency School, South Bangalore, and exhibition of online competition entries ‘CAPTURE MOMENTUM’ and ‘GRAPHIC MOMENTUM’.

It will also host ‘CINNOVATION’ - a screening session of ad films, stop motion animations, motion graphics, and short films, shot on DSLR cameras, an innovative approach and a global movement in the world of Cinematography.
