GB Government To Put Thousands of “GARAGE WORKERS” at Risk Under new Tory “M.O.T.” Proposal.

Thousands of small and medium sized garages are under threat of closure,if the  plans  by the British Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond go ahead. He is also putting the lives many Motorists at risk. His crazy idea is to change the” MOT  testing” time to every two years from the present period of every one year. Also a new car should be tested after four years instead of the present three year period.
Eric Roberts  one of West Yorkshire’s leading garage owners for 35 years says,”This is will be one of the most serious errors by a Government Minister I have known  in 35years of owning   a garage and MOT station, Philip Hammond should visit a busy MOT station and check out the state of some of the cars that are presented for testing, if these cars were left for another 12 months without a test they would be, “DEATH TRAPS” , in times of recession the MOT test is the only  reason that forces many motorists to repair their cars to a “high level of safety to cope with our busy roads and motorways”.                                                          
Eric also says “I am surprised that these proposals are coming from a Conservative Government. This plan smells of involvement with Europe, instead of Europe adopting our very well served and safe MOT system, we are lowering our standards to the two year period already used in countries like France, who incidentally have far less safety record than our own”.
The whole garage sector in the UK should be up in arms about this proposal, it will “close garages”, putting thousands of garage workers, including the supply chain,”out of work”,  
but most seriously “make our roads a hell of a lot more dangerous for all road users in the U.K.”.
Garage owners should write to their MP,and protest about scrapping this ludicrous
proposal and let us get on with keeping our Roads safer.
