April 18, 2011 - PRLog -- ROCHESTER, NEW YORK – The National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), the trade association for the secure data destruction industry, is proud to announce that Regional Computer Recycling & Recovery (RCRR) (Victor, NY), has been awarded NAID AAA Certification for Sanitization Operations.

“Almost every computer recycling company pays lip service to data security,” stated NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “But you know they are serious about it when they successfully complete the NAID Certification process.”

Only seven other asset management firms have earned the NAID AAA Certified for Sanitization Operations designation.

According to Johnson, there is good reason for these firms to be proud of being part of such an elite group.  “ The NAID AAA Certification program for Sanitization Operations is the only certification in the industry that relies on both announced and unannounced audits, is conducted by third-party, accredited security professionals, and that tests and verifies the sanitization processes by sending random drives to one the nation’s top forensics labs.”  Johnson adds, “Customers of these firms especially value the program because it goes beyond their capability to verify these things themselves.”

Hundreds of government offices and tens of thousands of businesses across the United States require NAID Certification of their data destruction vendors.  Most recently, the US Veterans Administration, the largest healthcare network in the country, mandated NAID Certification of all its physical destruction data destruction contractors.
