(Directions) Meleik’s first book, The Fighters of Justice Saves their Mother and “Learns to Never Give Up” is available for sale on his website www.fightersofjustice.com and The Book Escape located at 10 N Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. In The Fighters of Justice Saves their Mother and "Learns to Never Give Up" Supreme Being and Symbol Boom-Boom overcome a lot of distractions to save their mother. Meleik is not just a one book wonder but have nine more books due to be released the year under the Fighters of Justice Book Series and has a new set of superhero books coming out this year featuring Ninja characters called the “Corporate Ninja Brothers.” With the “Fighters of Justice” series, Meleik hopes that children learn that reading can be fun. He states that it is his hope that “people all around the world will enjoy his books.” In response to the question of what he hopes children will enjoy about his books he stated, “I hope that all children like the books so I am going to create new characters.” While the first books depict all African-American superhero characters Meleik later books will have more diverse characters. He drew inspiration for the book’s main characters from real life; himself and his siblings. The main character Supreme Being is modeled after Meleik, while the other three characters, Symbol Boom-Boom, Liberty Child and Hour Attack were modeled from his siblings. Meliek’s mother, an attorney who practices law in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland said, “I think it’s important for children to see themselves reflected in books and on TV; but it is obvious that Meleik has begun to think outside of his immediate life and has begun to look at the world and wants his books to reflect a more complete reflection of the world that surrounds him.” Meleik has in fact created a new character in his tenth book titled “7.” He describes the characters as a “white, male teenager with a red Mohawk named Blue Speeder.” What an inspiration to all children and adults he is! Come and learn about his books and watch history in the making! # # # The Fighters of Justice "empowering superhero books" for children.
