Will The Puppy Channel(R) Be Put To Sleep?

Thepuppychannel.com seeks support of strong media company, to keep The Puppy Channel(R) alive for its thousands of pet-loving fans, viewers and subscribers.

April 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Even With a New Look, More Video Features, Products, and YouTube, Facebook, Twitter Links, the cross-platform media venture still lacks adoption by investors, advertisers and shoppers.

Clearwater, FL --- How long does a company keep a brand alive, after years of financial losses, even if its potential success is affirmed by accomplished professionals and enthusiastic fans?

Thepuppychannel.com(R) re-opened its expansion efforts as the flagship of media network CHANNEMALS LLC early in 2008, using the investment of funding and professional services by individuals with substantial business accomplishments in media and finance.

The company had originally planned to be a family of cable TV networks, as has been chronicled on "This American Life," distributed by Public Radio International and broadcast on NPR, as well as in Wikipedia.

Since its re-introduction as a cross-platform content aggregator of pet-oriented entertainment, audience reaction has been limited by the lack of funds for the original video programming in the plan, and the marketing required to spread the word about these unique and exclusive offerings.

Advertising and merchandise revenues have covered operating expenses in recent months, but are inadequate to fund the initiatives called for by the company's business plan. Merchandise includes an Amazon store of pet products, logo and dog-art clothing, and original video & audio media content.

Management is considering plans other than closing the LLC and selling its assets. These include establishing partnerships with those who know how to run an online and/or media business, and who will improve the channel's efforts with their own resources, in return for an equity position. This could be a media company with the capabilities to work or refine the Business Plan, that can use a "line extension" having proven market research appeal. Other prospects are advertisers with high media-interaction ambitions whose businesses benefit from the affection of pet-lovers.

Managing partner of CHANNEMALS LLC, Dan FitzSimons, states, "If we're not adopted by one or more of the big dogs, we still can keep going as one of the littler guys in pet-oriented media. But the potential's there to be much more important to marketers and the huge audience."

FitzSimons also reports that thepuppychannel.com audience size amounts to thousands of unique visitors a month, rather than the millions that he believes their plans can generate, given an adequate marketing and production budget. Professionals that created profitable successes for Animal Planet and ElfYourself / StarringYou are poised to create content to entertain and involve the majority of Americans that love pets.
Currently, management is asking allies whether they should continue the process of pursuing a dream that has received substantial encouragement, but no economic gains, after three years.

Media fans may visit the site's News page, which includes a 2-minute segment from a regional NBC News TV outlet as well as print and web coverage of the Internet venture, plus the popular "This American Life" PRI radio broadcast about the channel's early history on TV.

CHANNEMALS LLC is based in Clearwater, Florida. For more information or to interview FitzSimons, please email fitz@thepuppychannel.com.
