2012 Chevrolet Camaro celebrates it's 45th Anniversary!

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The 45th anniversary package, to be offered on Camaro’s 2LT and 2SS trim levels, will include other unique interior and design cues for the coupe and convertible, including a red-and-silver rally stripe on the Carbon Flash Metallic paint; badges under front fender emblems; 20-inch wheels; silver-finished fog lamp and taillight bezels; jet-black leather-trimmed seats with anniversary logos; white instrument panel with the special logo; red, white and blue stitching on the seats, steering wheels, shift knob/boot, door armrests and console lid, and the special logo on the steering wheel and sill plates.

For its special 2012 edition, the venerable sports car gets all the Camaro model-year upgrades, including a brawnier version of the car’s standard 3.6-liter direct injection V-6 engine. The new LFX engine will produce 323 horsepower, an increase of 11 horsepower over the 2011 power plant with the same estimated highway fuel economy of 30 m.p.g., Chevrolet said.

The company will produce as many special edition Camaros as consumers demand, said David Caldwell, a Chevrolet spokesman.

“All Camaros in 2012 will receive significant enhancements as we push momentum forward,” he added. “The 45th anniversary edition carries forward our heritage.”

A high-performance ZL1 is scheduled to go on sale the beginning of next year, Mr. Caldwell said.
