Briefs Magazine Presents Sails N' Tails to Benefit Cullen's Archangel RescuE, Inc.

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- COLUMBIA (April 12, 2011) - Briefs Magazine is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the first Sails N’ Tails to benefit Cullen’s Archangel RescuE, Inc. on April 16, 2011. The charity fundraising event will take place at SouthShore Marina, 3072 Highway 378, Leesville, S.C. from noon to 4 p.m.

This unique pet-friendly event will include a look-a-like contest, four-legged limbo, water fetch and best trick contest with the dogs’ human counterparts. Pet lovers will enjoy exciting prizes, tantalizing treats and interactive booths. The Boomers will provide great tunes. SouthShore Marina will welcome people who bring their canine companions  to swim and compete.

Tara Haltiwanger, president of Cullen’s Archangel RescuE, Inc. (CARE), says, “Sails N' Tails is the largest event we've had since CARE began. This will be a great opportunity for South Carolina residents to learn how CARE helps the local community and why we need their support. Sails N' Tails is a celebration for CARE, our adopters, sponsors, and the community.”

2nd Wind Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is underwriting the cost of food. Briefs Magazine, Lake Murray Jaycees and CARE are providing volunteers for the event.

Briefs Magazine CEO Giovanna Di Biccari says, “It is only appropriate that a men’s magazine would help facilitate an event in which man’s best friend is involved. I’m really happy to see SouthShore Marina allow all these dogs to play on their shore, and I can’t wait for this event.”

Tickets are $1 each for food, drinks and entry into the games. Judges include a trainer from Woof University and an account executive at Double O Radio. Exciting prizes include gift cards from Animal Supply House, Pet Lovers Warehouse and Pupcakes. All proceeds from the event go to CARE.

Cullen’s Archangel RescuE, Inc. is a no-kill rescue that began in honor of President Tara Haltiwanger’s beloved rescue greyhound mix, Cullen, who was shot and killed in 2001 during a home invasion. Five years ago, CARE officially acquired its 501(c)(3) status. Their mission is to educate the community about pet care, help animals in need, decrease the amount of strays in our community, and provide shelter for animals that are in need of adoption; including those who are considered “non-adoptable.”
