Bravo's Kandi Burruss and BET's Rocsi Diaz bring inspiration in the Spring Issue of Heed Magazine.

The Spring 2011 issue of Heed hones in on the topic of abuse. Many of the features and editorials in this edition shed light on the prevalence of abuse—in its many forms— families, communities, and pop culture.

April 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Heed sits down with Rosci in New York City and Kandi in Atlanta to talk about longevity in the entertainment industry and the theme of abuse. Both women open-up about their indirect experiences with abuse, the lessons they learned from those who have been through similar circumstances and how those lessons continue to allow them to help others to heal who have been victimized by such a crime.

In the entertainment section, Heed check-ins with some of our favorite innovative and up-coming artists. Heed catches-up with R&B super- group Mint Condition as they celebrate 20 years of music-making history together. The band discusses the release of their ninth album, keeping the music fresh, and maintaining the brotherhood. Heed also chats with Que Mosley, formerly of MTV’s Day 26, about his new solo project and returning to reality television in an upcoming documentary. And that’s not all readers can expect. The magazine talks horror movies and diversity in movie-making with filmmaker Alvin Gray, explores the healing power of gospel music and theater arts with internet-radio personality Gerard Bonner and performing artist Kadejah Oni, and profiles emerging photographer Floyd Hobson. Readers can find these stories and more in one of the two editions of the magazine are available via heedmag.magcloud.com and on April 22 at Zinio.com.

Exciting cover art from notable photographers Derek Blanks (Kandi's cover) and Kevin Amato (Rocsi's cover) give Heed enthusiasts even more to look forward to within the inside spreads.
