April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The nation’s best flowboarders will be in Central Florida on Saturday, April 30th as the quest to capture the 2011 US FLOW Tour title comes to the region’s newest and most exciting action sports venue.  Fantasy Surf at FantasyWorld Resort, located at 5151 Kyngs Heath Road in Kissimmee (http://www.UltimateIndoorWave.com), is hosting the second stop on the US FLOW Tour.

Amanda McCormick, the 2010 World Women’s Flowboarding Champion, will compete to maintain her points lead after winning the first FLOW Tour competition in Sandusky, Ohio on April 9th.

Orlando’s Sean Silveira, the men’s 2010 US FLOW Tour champion, did not compete due to recovery from arthroscopic surgery in January to repair a shoulder injury. Silveira is expected to showcase his signature moves when the Flow Tour comes to his home town.  Both McCormick and Silveira are sponsored by Fantasy Surf.

“We are off to an exciting start to this year’s US FLOW Tour and expect the competition to only heat up,” said Rob Chalfant of Wave Loch, primary sponsor of the US FLOW Tour. “The growing number of FlowRider systems across the world has helped to draw awareness to and increase interest in this fast-growing action sport. As a result, we see some very creative and athletic competitors on tour.”

Flowboarding has the look of surfing and wakeboarding, ride of snowboarding, and tricks of skateboarding in a safe and controlled environment.

The US FLOW Tour includes 13 different competitions at water parks and indoor aquatic venues across the country. Participants compete to earn points and cash at each event for their respective categories. Athletes with the highest number of points at the end of the season earn a bid to compete in the World FlowRider Championships in the fall.

At all FLOW Tour venues, the competitors “shred it” on Wave Loch’s patented double FlowRider® system which uses high-pressure pumps to create as much as a 30 MPH three-inch sheet of water. The water from the 55,000 gallon tank flows up and over the shape of a faultless tension sheet wave simulating the feeling of surfing.
