April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Mohali, India: WizIQ.com, a web-based education platform, just released a recurring online class feature that is useful when a teacher plans to teach the same class multiple times in a virtual classroom. Recurring online classes can be scheduled at one go, without the need to reschedule, each time a class is due.

WizIQ Virtual Classroom is an online meeting environment for teachers and students, where thousands of classes are virtually delivered everyday across the globe. The Virtual Classroom is an intuitive online Web-conferencing tool that replicates the capabilities of traditional brick and mortar classrooms (whiteboards, face-to-face communications, real-time discussions, etc.), but is completely online. And it’s popular: more than 100,000 teachers and trainers use the service and there are more than a million registered students on WizIQ now, and with approximately 2,20,000 classes scheduled in the last one year, WizIQ could well be the largest university in the world.

Harman Singh, CEO and co-founder of WizIQ.com, has a longstanding vision of creating the most usable and affordable online education platform and this is a step towards achieving that goal. Harman said, “ we have been asked by teachers using WizIQ to develop such a feature so they have to work less when it comes to scheduling multiple classes. This is quite a sophisticated feature where teachers can set up a class that repeats say on specific days of the week, once or twice each week, etc. Class notifications and reminders are automatically taken care of by WizIQ.”

With this recurring online class feature, a teacher can:

- Schedule a complete recurring series at preferred intervals with advanced customization options up to 12 months in advance from the current date (the date on which you schedule the class series)
- Invite students to attend individual classes of the recurring series
- Change the date and time of a single class in a series of recurring classes
- Cancel a single class in a series of recurring classes. (However, cancellation of the complete recurring series is not possible)
- Add a recurring series to a course while scheduling
- Add a recurring series to a course from the class listing
