-- ECCMID is the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and is a collaboration with the International Congress of Chemotherapy. The two societies will be joining to discuss current findings in their particular fields of medicine and sharing ideas on the best ways to treat patients.
Some of the key lectures of the congress will look at areas such as types of fungal infections found in hospitals and the challenges for making a vaccine against TB. Subject matter will also go into detail about the resistance to antibiotics and the best vaccines and medicines currently available to the market.
The congress draws around 7,000 to close to 8,000 society members each time and this year will be held at the Milano Convention Centre from 7th to 10th May 2011.
