History of Rogers Auto Group  

1943 – It started in 1943 when Rogers Auto Sales was a staple in the Southside neighborhood that is now called the New South Loop. Originally located at 2535 S. Michigan Ave, Rogers provided a great selection of quality pre-driven vehicles.  Determination, risk and hard work have been the foundation that has allowed Rogers Auto Group to thrive for more than 70 years.  

1956 – After enjoying 13 years of success as a quality pre-owned car dealer, Roger Scher had the opportunity to acquire a Pontiac franchise in 1956. Rogers' reputation, success and proven track record is what earned this prestigious honor.  With success comes satisfied Chicagoans and the necessity to expand. Rogers Pontiac then moved down the street to its current location on the corner of 28th and Michigan Avenues. Rogers Pontiac had its new home: 2720 S. Michigan Ave.

1997 – Acquired Hyundai – Rogers Pontiac flourished through the years, but Chicago residents wanted an alternative to the gas guzzling monsters that flooded the market. Roger Scher's son Monty took this as a great opportunity to offer this newly turned automaker to Chicagoans who were looking for compact quality as well as affordability, and thus Rogers Hyundai Chicago was born. Now Hyundai has won many quality awards with most recent Hyundai Genesis' North American Car of the Year Award.

1999 Acquired Buick – 2000 Acquired GMC Truck – 2003 Acquired Chevrolet – With success brings opportunity... again and again.  Since the Scher family established a long standing relationship with the community as THE premier Pontiac dealer in Chicago, General Motors had no problem offering Buick in 1999, GMC Truck in 2000, and Chevrolet in 2003.
