April 12, 2011 - PRLog -- The 30th Annual Tissue Viability Conference was this year held in Kettering, Northamptonshire, UK. The 2 day event began on the 5th of April and boasted an array of professionals with expertise in wound management and leading voices in tissue viability. The vision for the conference was “Making a difference: a shared vision for multi-disciplinary research,                 practice and policy.”

Tissue Viability, has recently become a leading field within the health market, partly due to the growth and interest of            pressure ulcers and skin breakdown. It is now becoming more important than ever as its main guiding principle is to help maintain a patients skin integrity, prevent and heal acute and chronic wounds.

Aderma®, a proven effective pressure ulcer prevention device,  was one of 60+ exhibitors who were all there to promote    their products, meet with their product users, interact with them, discuss possible new technologies, gain focused feedback and potentially gain new customers. Aderma® was situated in a prime position of the exhibition hall with high interest and interactions throughout the entire event.

Inbetween the hustle and bustle of the exhibition hall there were also key speakers in the auditorium covering challenging topics including skin and wound management, the prospects for tissue viability, healing wounds, patient experiences and the psychological impact a wound can have on a patient’s life.

Kevin Ormond, Marketing Consultant at FPD Medical, discusses the success of the 30th Annual Tissue Viability Conference:

“The conference was an excellent opportunity to meet with Tissue Viability Nurses and to discuss the challenges facing them. There is no doubt that the prevention of pressure ulcers is  becoming a major priority. We look forward to working with them in addressing this challenge “
