April 11, 2011 - PRLog -- On 15th May 2011, Okura Hotels and Resorts will be starting its first venture in Macau when the doors of the Hotel Okura Macau open for the first time. Macau is a global centre of tourism and leisure and becoming a popular choice for UK visitors who are attracted by its infrastructure of luxury hotels, attractions and world-class shows.

The Hotel Okura Macau is one of the three luxury 5-star hotels in the brand new destination resort Galaxy Macau™, which is situated in the Cotai district between the islands of Taipa and Coloane. The three hotels are the Galaxy Hotel, which has 1,500 rooms and suites; the Banyan Tree Macau with 250 suites and 10 villas and Hotel Okura Macau which has 500 elegant rooms and suites, providing over 2,200 rooms in total.

Hotel Okura Macau aims to offer its own Japanese hallmarks on the group of properties, which according to the General Manager, Mr Harmen Dubbelaar, will provide “the best of Japanese hospitality, delivering moments of kindness.”

This Japanese spirit can be seen in the design of the lobby and other public areas, where state-or-the-art functional styling is complemented with lattice windows and other traditional Japanese touches and is conveyed through Okura’s unobtrusive and attentive service.

Hotel Okura Macau offers 500 guest rooms, including 60 suites. These range in size from the 46m2 Deluxe Rooms to the larger 84m2 Junior Suites, with Superior Suites measuring up to 99 m2, as well as a sumptuous Imperial Suite and Royal Suite providing between 115-127m2 of luxurious living space. All rooms have flat-screen TVs in the bedroom, as well as in the spacious bathroom, wifi connections and complimentary use of the gym and swimming pools. Moreover, the hotel offers 6 well-equipped function rooms with a total of 550m2 functional space catering wedding, conference and events need.

Hotel guests can enjoy the Grand Resort Deck covering 52,000m2 and leisure facilities include the world’s largest skytop wave pool, with waves of up to 1.5 metres in height, covering 4,000m2. Plus a white sandy beach and five additional individually designed indoor and outdoor swimming pools. A Cabana area provides an exclusive poolside retreat close to the Banyan Tree Spa.

The integrated resort also features a number of entertainment venues with five distinct casino experiences. Conceived around the themes of copper, bronze, crystal, ruby and royalty they provide more than 1,500 gaming devices and 600 table games in this lavish complex. Or guests might be drawn to the resort’s nightclub, China Rouge. Part bar and lounge, part restaurant, with a club vibe and stage showcasing theatrical performances, this opulent space created by the renowned designer Alan Chan, evokes the history and captures the excitement of 1930’s Shanghai.

Taste buds will also be well catered for with over 50 restaurants, bars and lounges across the resort. Culinary delights at the Hotel Okura Macau range from the outdoor, all day dining ‘Terrace Restaurant’ which blends western style dishes with Asian favourites in traditional Japanese Bento treasure boxes; whilst the ‘Nagomi’ Lobby Bar & Lounge blends Japanese culture with the serving of traditional ‘Wagashi’ confectionary with its afternoon tea. These colourful treats, made from natural ingredients such as Mochi, Azuki bean paste and fruits are almost an art form in Japan with shapes and flavours that change with the seasons. In addition a wide array of Sake from across Japan will be available in the ‘Sakazuki’ Sake Bar and Okura’s signature Japanese restaurant ‘Yamazato’ will give patrons the opportunity to savour the authentic taste of Japan with Kaiseki dishes, freshly prepared sushi, or grilled dishes, whilst looking out over a graceful Japanese garden.

The hotel is located 5 minutes by car from Macau International Airport and the Taipa PacOn Ferry Terminal. 15 minutes from Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal and  the Zhuhai-GongBei border gate.
