April 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Winchendon, MA  –  The Penguin School is thrilled to announce its 2011 schedule.  The Penguin School will be offering motorcycle rider training at four different racetracks this year including New Hampshire Motor Speedway, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Barber Motorsports Park and Homestead-Miami Speedway. This year’s rider training classes include six Friday dates at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and three Monday dates for Ducati special events. The Monday,  October 10 special event will mark the Penguin School’s first time conducting rider training at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

“We are striving to make motorcycle rider training more accessible and convenient for all motorcyclists.  We worked closely with our partner tracks to arrange Friday and Monday classes in order for participants to able to extend their weekend,”  said Eric Wood, President of the Penguin Roadracing School.  “Also, by request, we now offer participation options for our 2-day school in June allowing students to take part in either both days, which we recommend, or a single day on either the first or second day of the class.”

The school is open to all riders and offers 3 different classes tailored to riders’ needs.  The Track Experience Course was designed with street riders in mind.  This course is closed to racers and is focused on track time, riding techniques and improving skills while gaining familiarity with the race track in a non-race environment.   The Basic Course improves motorcycle riding skills and allows those interested in competition to gain their competition certification.  Finally, the Advanced Course is for experienced riders who are interested in improving their riding techniques, whether they are a street rider or an aspiring racer.  For details please explore our class options: http://www.penguinracing.com/pages/6_class_options.cfm

Founded in 1973 by Jerry Wood and Joe Ziegler, the Penguin Racing School based in Winchendon, MA, is the nation’s first and longest running motorcycle training school. The school was key in helping transform roadracing safety as the sport grew in the 1970’s. The first Penguin School manual “Learn to Fly” provided riders with a game plan for a complete understanding of roadracing rules and safety procedures as well as a solid path to improve their skills. The school grew under the leadership of Jerry Wood and factory rider, John Bettencourt. Currently, under the leadership of Eric Wood, son of founder Jerry Wood, the school has expanded from its base operation at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to include schools in New Jersey and Florida. Utilizing advanced training materials, with the industry’s best team of lead instructors, the school trains thousands street riders and racers in basic and advanced skills.
