April 7, 2011 - PRLog -- With the conflicts in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan, the recession that some are calling a depression, the looming threat of the dollar collapse and daily rising costs of gasoline and food, is there any good news out there? This Fort Worth Texas Martial Arts Center may just have a glimmer of good news for parents that want to enroll their children in a martial arts program. The Academy of Combat Application Techniques  is offering their "Kid's Martial Arts" program for only a fraction of what other places in the same market are offering. The "Kid's Martial Arts" Program is offering monthly programs starting at only $28 a month. They are also offering the flexibility of paying by the class, the week or the month. According to the Owner and head Instructor at the Center, Andy Curtiss; the most astounding thing they offer is the freedom from signing binding legal contracts.

He says that many Martial Arts Schools have moderate to expensive sign on fees and make the students/ guardians sign a contract that forces them to pay the monthly rate for a year even when they are unable to make it for training. Although he understands the concept for insurance of income, he just doesn't believe that these binding contracts are realistic, affordable or morally right. The Center located in Sansom Park; just outside of Lake Worth Texas will open its doors for registration in Fall of 2011. The children's program is said to be the basic "Kid's Program" seen anywhere else except that the techniques taught are focused more on today's threats facing children. There is a "Stranger Danger" type curriculum  as well as an anti-gang and anti-drug philosophy taught at the center. This is all part of the standard curriculum taught at the Center.

Although, the "Kid's Martial Arts Program" is a strong focus of the center, there are also classes for adults (16 or above) in Mixed Martial Arts, Women's Awareness and Self Protection and Military Knife and Hand to Hand Combat. Offering rates as low as what the Center offers is a risk, especially for a new business, but Curtiss says that he will continue to offer the low tuition fees as long as he is able to keep the doors open and still pay bills at home. Curtiss holds a 3rd degree blackbelt in Moo Duk Kwan, a 2nd Degree blackbelt in Kempo Karate, a Brown Belt in Jujitsu and is a Professional Mixed Martial Artist. He is also a combat veteran "Green Beret" who was nominated for the Silver Star in Combat. Curtiss named the Center "The Academy of Combat Application Techniques" based on the book that he wrote "Combat Application Techniques: Principles of Destruction"; a book on a Military Knife and Hand to hand Combat Program that he developed for his Special Forces "ATeam". The School is located at 5840 - C Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth Texas and will open in September 2011. Their website is  http://combatacademy.zoomshare.com/0.html
