-- Rutland Cycles was crowned the UK’s Best Independent Retailer at the BikeBiz Award. It was a hotly contested category; they beat off competition from some other great retailers. Over 200 members of the bike trade gathered for the award ceremony, which took place at Sway Bar, London, to celebrate the industry’s high achievers over the past year.
Rutland Cycles website has grown at a phenomenal rate. This months site visitors reached just over 1 million and their year on year sales have increased by over 300%. Surveys have shown that over 85% of their customer’s rate the service they received above average or excellent. These impressive figures together with an excellent product range and pricing plus great in-store merchandising topped it off for the 50 judges who voted on the awards.
Steve Gill, Sales Director said “We are delighted to have won the award of Best Independent retailer. It is credit to our dedicated team and many years of hard work. Our thanks go to all who voted for us. We are especially grateful to our customers for helping us get this far and we are all excited to build on this success.”
It has been a great two years for Rutland Cycles: Being the first and only independent bike retailer to partner with Giant on opening a branded concept store. A revamped website and the launch of a brand new sister shopping page. Their workshops were ranked number one by Cytech 2009-2010 and if that wasn’t enough they were Rutland and Stamford Mercury Business Awards Winners 2009.
