EPA to present on Green Chemistry and the Fragrance Industry at Sustainable Fragrances 2011

Dr. Paul Anastas will keynote at DC metro area conference taking place June 9-10, 2011

April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Portland, Maine- April 5, 2011 – IntertechPira is pleased to announce that Dr. Paul Anastas, the Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) and the Science Advisor to the Agency, will provide the keynote address at the 3rd Annual Sustainable Fragrances conference.  This year’s conference will take place June 9-10, 2011 in Arlington, VA and is anticipated to attract more than 100 perfumers, CEOs, senior level R&D managers, regulatory affairs and product stewardship managers, scientists, sales and marketing executives and supply chain managers.
Known widely as the “Father of Green Chemistry” for his groundbreaking research on the design, manufacture, and use of minimally-toxic, environmentally-friendly chemicals, Dr. Anastas has an extensive record of leadership in government, academia, and the private sector.  “Dr. Anastas will provide the perfect start to this year’s conference and will lay the groundwork for other discussions,” said Christine Groff, conference director at IntertechPira.  “Attendees at Sustainable Fragrances 2011 will leave with a thorough understanding of concepts like green chemistry, as well as insight into communications strategies, the current marketplace and the regulatory outlook.  Add in the numerous networking opportunities and many other noteworthy speakers and this year’s conference will truly be a must-attend event for anyone involved in the fragrance industry.”
