April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- LINDON, UTAH— AccessData, the pioneer of digital investigations and litigation support, today announced the unveiling of a new configuration for their Summation CaseVantage web-based legal review platform. Instead of the multiple servers needed to run the product previously, firms can now install and run CaseVantage on a single server. This provides a massive reduction in hardware needs and therefore costs for law firms, giving them the ability to host their own web review platform without extensive infrastructure and maintenance.

In addition to making CaseVantage available to firms on a single server, the following features have been added to the product:

•   Markup Set Tab – gives users the ability to secure document marks and redactions so that only certain groups or users may view them. Multiple markup sets can be applied to a single document or group of documents, allowing different user groups to work on the same set of documents without making multiple copies and without seeing each other’s marks.
•   Case Notes – allows users to add a note to the case independent of a document or transcript and share it with others. This improves case management functionality by providing a secure way for users to communicate about a case within CaseVantage.
•   Custom Redaction Text – allows users to create a custom text overlay on a redaction with a single click.

AD Summation CaseVantage bridges a unique gap between a cloud solution and a behind-the-firewall solution by allowing a company to host its own litigation review software; thereby gaining all the advantages of a hosted product with much less risk. “In the past, organizations have been hesitant to adopt self-hosting technology due to the large investment in both hardware and infrastructure,” observed Brian Karney, President and COO of AccessData. “But with this reduction in hardware requirements and associated cost-savings, this type of solution is now available to more firms worldwide, regardless of their size or budget.”
