Carlsen Resources, Inc. to Conduct Comprehensive Search for Senior Executive

LENEXA, Kan. – The National Cable Television Cooperative, Inc. (NCTC) has engaged executive search firm Carlsen Resources, Inc. to conduct the search for a senior executive to lead the not-for-profit programming and hardware purchasing organization.  The new NCTC president and CEO will replace Jeffrey Abbas, who recently resigned his position.

NCTC board chair Edward T. Holleran Jr., president and COO of Atlantic Broadband, Inc., said former chairman, Tom Gleason Jr. is serving as interim CEO.  Gleason is executive vice president of NewWave Communications.  The search committee is chaired by Gary Shorman, President and CEO of Eagle Communications.

“NCTC is grateful to its dedicated staff members for their tireless work on behalf of our members by not only bringing them the best deals possible with programmers and hardware suppliers, but also by providing value through the exchange of information, member education and monitoring future industry developments and technologies that may prove beneficial.” Holleran said.  “NCTC has become a critical part of our members’ businesses, and we seek a proven leader to build on this success.”

“In a rapidly changing media landscape, as our members seek to protect their profitability, NCTC will continue to play a critical role for independent cable operators.  Of course, the success of any cooperative venture is active member participation and support.  We look forward to welcoming a new senior executive who will continue to earn that support and lead NCTC forward.” Holleran said.

Search committee Chairman Gary Shorman said: “We are on the hunt for an exceptional cable industry leader who has strong and enduring industry relationships, an empowering and collaborative leadership style that will engage and inspire our members, suppliers and staff to strive for new heights.”
