April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Staff at FourstaR Employment & Skills opened their doors to the local Liberal Democrat, John Hemming MP on Friday. The purpose of the visit was to hear how FourstaR Employment & Skills’ Unique and Innovative model is helping to reduce worklessness for his local constituents in the Birmingham area.

During the meeting Mr Hemming discussed how FourstaR Employment & Skills, who have recently been successful in winning the West Midlands Work Programme contract for Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country, work with the Department for Work and Pensions to place people back into employment.

Mr Hemming was given a tour of the Employment Training Centre at Garretts Green, which sits at the heart of FourstaR Employment & Skills’ jobseeker-focussed approach to employment. He heard how local unemployment is tackled through a combination of intensive job search support, comprehensive vacancy matching services, real work experience and skills development.

Following the meeting John Hemming MP said,

“I was very pleased to visit FourstaR given the vital work they do in combating the problem of unemployment. I’m happy to see such an organisation operating in my own constituency, as the help they provide in delivering the training and skills agenda will be invaluable for bringing innovation we need to the local economy.”

Debra Jackson, Director of Operations, FourstaR Employment and Skills said,

“We are delighted that John Hemming MP made time to visit one of our Employment Training Centres. It is an exciting time for FourstaR Employment & Skills; we are thrilled to have won the West Midlands Work Programme contract for Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country.

"This is a huge achievement for us and a massive indication of our success in the short time that we have been in the UK. We look forward to working in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions and local stakeholder groups over the coming months, as we embark upon the Work Programme. I am confident that we will continue to improve the lives of the local unemployed as we expand our footprint and broaden our scope of delivery across the Black Country”
