GHS Radiation Therapy Center Chief Medical Physicist Ingrid Marshall to be Featured at Symp

April 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Georgetown Hospital System’s Radiation Therapy Center Chief Medical Physicist, Ingrid Marshall, MS, PhD, DABR, will be among speakers at an annual meeting of Physicists in Medicine to be held in Myrtle Beach April 7 – 9.

Dr. Marshall, who is an assistant professor at Medical University of South Carolina, will discuss American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation during the Symposium hosted by South Eastern American Association of Physicists in Medicine (SEAAPM).  Georgetown Hospital System’s Radiation Therapy Center is one of only two sites in South Carolina to achieve ACR accreditation.

The three-day event will focus on “The Practice of Quality Assurance in an Era of Change” and will attract Physicists in Medicine from six southeastern states.  Dr. Marshall is co-director of the annual Symposium and meeting and currently serves as treasurer of  SEAAPM.

Georgetown Radiation Therapy Center is a joint project of Georgetown Hospital System and MUSC's Hollings Cancer Center.  Both Dr. Marshall and Dr. Eric Aguero, Radiation Oncologist at the Radiation Therapy Center, are MUSC employees.
