Rick Powers partners with the Backpacks for hungry kids Program.
Weld County Garage is proud to announce that Rick Powers has teamed up with this great local cause.
The goal of the Backpacks for Hungry Kids Program is to help alleviate child hunger in Weld County by providing hungry children with nutritious and easy to prepare food at times when other resources are not available, such as weekends and school vacations. Many children rely on free or reduced-priced school breakfast and lunch to meet their nutritional needs during the week. These same children become vulnerable to hunger over the weekend when they cannot access those resources. Rick and Weld County Garage are benefiting the program by donating $100 every time a customer comes in to purchase a vehicle and mentions this partnership.
Rick came to Weld County Garage after a 16 year career in public service and he is a joy to work with because he truly cares about the welfare of his customers and his fellow employees. Rick perfectly fits the motto adopted by Weld County Garage, “Driven to do what’s right”.
Currently, 500 children in Weld County benefit from the Backpack Program. A $100 donation from Rick Powers and Weld County Garage will keep a child’s backpack filled with food for an entire year and help to grow this program to help the more than 36% of children in Weld County who are living in poverty.
