The TV show "Survivor" forces contestants to make it in the wilderness with less than bare minimum essentials. It's just about the greenest way to live—no water, no electricity, no waste and no stuff.

“Pilar Lofo” vacation homes follow a similar principle. There’s no furniture, no electricity and no water. Guests can simply turn up with their tent and pitch it on the front lawn of one of Florida Leisure’s vacation rental homes and enjoy their vacation. The cost is $9.99 per night for a standard front yard lot and there is a deluxe version with a water view for just $14.99 per night for those guests that prefer to go around the back of the vacation home and pitch their tent overlooking the property’s swimming pool.

“It’s a new idea and a new concept that we think will be super successful” said Nigel Worrall of Florida Leisure. “In these economic times it’s hard for a family to get away and take a well earned vacation but we believe we have found a way that is economical and fun.”

For those that do not own a tent, Florida Leisure has rental tents available for $7.99 per night.
