April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets in the Northland is holding a Yappy Hour to support Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter (FOPAS) Wednesday April 13th, from 4 – 7pm. $5 donation at the door. Raffle tickets on sale now.

Robin, with Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter tells us, “FOPAS was organized in 1999. Until October 2006 there was no permanent shelter. From the first year’s success of 35 adoptions, to 2009’s more than 400 adoptions, FOPAS has retained its focus of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals. FOPAS provides food, shelter, foster homes when possible, and veterinarian services to each pet coming within our care.”

Please join us at Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets in the Northland Area of Kansas City, on April 13th  from 4 – 7pm, for some beach-worthy drinks, snacks, and a chance to win some great prizes. Canine attendees will enjoy special pet friendly treats and canine companionship. A $5 donation at the door gets you and your dog into the party. Raffle tickets are available now; you don’t have to be present to win. All donations at the door and for raffle tickets go to FOPAS. Your very small donation can, and will, save pets’ lives. And socialization is good for your dog, and for you.

The number of homeless dogs and cats seems to grow daily, perhaps mirroring the growth of the Northland. The services FOPAS provides cannot be postponed or neglected because of a shortage of funds and these services, and the cost thereof, increase as the number of animals increases.
